Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Andy Roydhouse
December 10, 2001
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

As you can see by looking at the frequency of my reports, I haven't spent much time fishng the inshore waters lately. The mullet run has slowed down and the fish are a bit scattered. With few baits in the area it is taking a fair amount of searching and patience.

We are still waiting for the first true blasts of winter. It almost started this weekend but no cigar. As soon as a few days of strong northerly winds get the bait and fish on the run we should see the action pick up.

Offshore there are a few decent size Dolphin coming through in close and scattered Kingfish. The Sailfish are still a bit north but one jumps the bait every now and then. Still early in the season yet. By the time you read this the action will probably change though. It always does as soon as I put it in writing.

Sea Ya,

Captain Ron Mallet
