Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather has cooperated over the last few days. Very scattered rain and a light southeast breeze has made the conditions comfortable. The bite offshore was mostly made up of Kingfish and Bonita's. We did jump off a couple of Sailfish yesterday but that was a suprise for both of us. They are scattered this time of year and not a usual player. Drifting live bait outside our inlet is producing bites and the larger boats trolling planers are getting fish too.

In the inlet the Barracuda are stacked up waiting on the tide changes. Live bait will trick them into taking the hook. The Jack Crevalles are in the back canals and like to feed early on before the heat gets too much. A lucky few will have a Tarpon jump the baits before another species gets to it. This time of year can be good if you start out in the morning and get a break with the weather.
