Fort Lauderdale, FL - Offshore

Capt. David Ide
April 9, 2001
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Sharks! Sharks! Sharks!!

The sharks have finally arrived in full force. We have been catching hammerheads, thresher and some makos. All have been in the 8-11ft range.

Action on the reef has also picked up. We have been catching kingfish in the 25-35lb range. There has been some dolphin lately with a few of them being large.

Live bait has been productive for sailfishing in the past week. We have also had some nice wahoo this week.

The wrecks have been housing some really nice amberjacks and barracudas.

And of course, you can't beat the weather and the sea conditions this past week and seems to be the trend for the moment.

So, let's go fishing and enjoy all this sunshine on the water.

Capt. Kunta
