Fort Lauderdale, FL - Offshore

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

We're back!

After being broke down and on vacation we are back chasing the fish.

The weather has been good and the Sharks & Kingfish have moved in.

Friday we went to the "Stink hole" off of Hollywood. There was a great edge of blue water against the green water in 125' of water. The current was good to the North. The winds were 10 knots out of the SE.

We put two kites up with 4 live goggle eyes out for bait. By the time we got everything ready, a sail came up and ate the long bait. After a great fisght from the 25 lb Sail, we released it and got ready again. The next two Sails ate and jumped off right away. The Kingfish came and blitzed us through out the day. We were going through a lot of bait, but the fishing was great.

We released another sail just before lines out. 2 for 4 and some kings and cudas.

Last Monday, we caught a 10 1/2' Hammerhead and 10 Dolphin. All week long we have relased one to two Sharks a day for the clients who like to catch & release them.

Dolphin have been scarce. One day you catch a 40 lb fish and the next 3 days you find debris and no fish.

There are still a few Amberjacks on the wrecks and even an occasional grouper. The Mutton sanpper should bite on the next full moon in the Bahamas and even here on the outer reefs.

My brother and I have caught a few Swordfish the past 10 days, fishing out of his boat. One was 130 lbs. and the other was 100 lbs. Other boats have reported up to 3 a night.

We are availible for charters to go Swordfishing!

Call me!

Catch-em-up,

Capt. Kunta
