Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Can’t ask for more! (Well, maybe a little more current)
The weather has been great, the fish are biting and we’ve been fishing everyday!
Kite fishing with live goggle eyes have been producing Sailfish. Anywhere from 1 to 5 a trip! The fish have been in 100’ to 220’ of water.
Along with the Sailfish are some nice sized Mahi-mahi! We did catch a dozen one day trolling in 600’ of water. We caught one nice Wahoo too. There have been a few around but unfortunately when you’re fishing for Sailfish and using mono leaders these Wahoo bite right through the leader!
Yesterday we caught a nice sized Black Grouper, some King Mackerels and then went out Swordfishing at night. We caught one nice Swordfish and a 9’ Hammerhead Shark!
One day the current went slack and we struggled, but ended up catching an Amberjack and some Barracudas!
Overall, fishing has been real good!
Catch-em-up,
Captain Kent Smith
