Fort Lauderdale, FL - Offshore

Capt. David Ide
March 2, 2000
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing is still Great!

This week we have been fishing the wrecks. Lots of Sharks, Amberjacks and Barracudas. The Hammerheads have shown up. There was also a couple of Thresher sharks caught this week by other boats.

Trolling this week has produced some Mahi-mahi 5 to 15 lbs(dolphin fish), wahoo up to 30 lbs and a couple of sails. The weather was rough earlier last week and the last few days the weather has been beautiful.

The kingfish have been inconsistant on the reef and the water has been been a little dirty. Even live bait has been tough to catch.

We look forward to the fishing improving the next couple of weeks as spring arrives.

Catch-em-up,

Capt. Kunta
