Fort Lauderdale, FL - Offshore

Capt. David Ide
June 22, 2000
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dolphin, Dolphin & more Dolphin

The Dolphin have been everywhere. Lots of schoolies and a few gaffers. Weedlines & debris from 120' to 600' of water. The Sharks are still biting. Hammerheads, blacktips and even a mako was weighed in this week. The current has been real strong to the North, so the wreck fishing has been tough. It's hard to keep the bait on the wreck with that much current.

There were quite a few Blue Marlin reported throughout the fleet this week. They were found eating dolphin and eating trolled baits.

The kingfish have slowed down a bit this week and even the bonitas have been scarce. They should be arriving in big numbers anyday.

The weather has been great and we look forward to catching more dolphin this week.

Catch-em-up,

Capt. Kunta
