Fort Lauderdale, FL - Offshore

Capt. David Ide
July 10, 2000
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Where did the Dolphin go?

The dolphin have been scare and small. The kingfish have moved on and...... But, we have been catching a few large kings 18 to 30 lbs, sailfish, barracuda, amberjacks, bonita and sharks. Most of these fish have been on the wrecks.

Sharks, Hammerheads, BlackTips and even a Thresher have been caught this week. Most of the sharks have been 125 to 350 lbs.

The current was stong along the coast and the water was very clear. This is probaly what moved the kingfish off and it also made the wrecks harder to fish.

There have still been a few Blue Marlin being caught and with the Bonitas moving in for the summer fun, fishing should be good.

Catch-em up,

Capt. Kunta
