sailfishing heats up in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well its finally here. Winter cold fronts have begun to push bait down our beautiful gold coast and with the bait are pods of hungry sailfish. Fish are being seen anywhere from 100-500 feet of water. A little scattered but plenty of of shots. Kite fishing with goggle eyes is the preferred method with pulling live ballyhoos a close second. Yesterday we saw five fish hooked four and caught one. Not the best ratio but we were seeing the fish. All of our fish were out deep from 475 to 525 feet of water. Good friend and repeat customer Ryan and his wife Bridgette were with us for the experience and Bridgette caught her first sail so it was a great trip.
