shark Fishing Fort Lauderdale

Capt. David Ide
May 16, 2013
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Lady Pamela II got into the bonitos offshore Ft. Lauderdale as well, getting most of the bites north of the inlet. These fish were running 3-5 lbs; not real big but sure fun to catch. The crew took some of the small ones as bait for some sharkfishing. They were the right bait for a 7ft. hammerhead that ate bait set at mid-depth in 350 feet of water.

There was still time left on the charter so the crew popped over to a tilefish spot, boating a half dozen grey tiles in under an hour. Today's catch turned out to be a nice mix of gamefish and eating fish.
