Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Yesterday morning we had retired tight end from the Jets Chris Baker and his brother fish with us. We had a south current with a southwest wind. We started out catching some blurunners at the #3 and then we started trolling around catching some bonitos and then finally a we caught a kingfish! We trolled around some more and what do you know..... The line started screaming and it was Chris's brothers turn to reel in the fish and boy was it ever a fish

! Wahoo to be exact! Chris has been trying to catch a wahoo for years now and his brother ended up catching it. What luck! We went back to trolling and we caught some more bonitos and one more kingfish before we headed back in.

In the evening we had the Dereuck family visiting from South Africa. They were first timers deep sea fishing and they were wowed to say the least. Captain Kieth headed up this trip with Mate Jeff. They started out trolling out in 350 and Captain Kieth spotted a tailer and headed him off and got mate jeff in position to draw him in. Next thing you know it was sailfish on. He faught the sailfish with perfect technique per Mate Jeffs instructions

. Captain Keith asked all if the wanted to go catch a shark and everyone agreed to proceed. We set up out in 400 and waited about 20 minutes and it was seamonster on! It took about 45 minutes to haul in the hammerhead shark. Everyone was in AHH!
