Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Offshore: Another week of windy conditions curtailed most offshore efforts. There were however reports of good bites on the close marks, snapper, a few grouper, nice cobia and gangs of mackerel. Tarpon are showing up all along the region but until the weather cooperates it'll be a challenge to fish em. Snook and reds are mulling around the close marks as well with surf anglers finding a decent mixed bag bite when the wind doesn't' counter their efforts. The pass mouths are holding some tarpon, snook, big reds and a mob of other critters with pompano at the top of the pops. Some permit were reported on the close marks as well
Backbay: Flats action is been very good around the bushes and creek mouths. There are plenty of husky redfish that are hungry for about any meaty offering. My crews caught em on cut ladyfish that we hooked while drifting our trout waters, two for one, I like it! Other crews reported bruiser bull reds quip in Charlotte Harbor while pitching cut thread fins left over from tarpon tours, two for one I like it! Snook are active in the major passes and rivers, Redfish, Captiva, Blind, Big Carlos, New Pass and of course Boca.
Crews reported sightfishing for gangs of cobia in Charlotte Harbor, good stuff. There are tarpon mulling around the flats in Estero Bay.

Capt's Corner: Sadly we bid farewell to the Old Weeks Fish Camp for the time being. If the scheduled revamping goes as planned it'll reopen new and improved in about a year.
We hope so because it's the best acess to home waters for many local anglers. We'll be running outa Mullock Creek for Estero and Punta Rassa for up north action. Today we're going up to Matlacha Public Ramp on a "Mudskipper" recon to Indian Fields and maybe lower Burnt Store Bars; we'll send a report and hopefully a few nice pictures if we get lucky. And so it goes!
Fort Myers Fishing Forecast:

We're on the tarpon trail crews and there are plenty of snook amd big reds around so get on the board and into the action.
