Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Tripltail Bite is On!
Backbay: The boys are back in town, scads of bait, a new population of upper slot trout, plenty of mixed size reds and snook in the canals and creeks. There were reports of smallish poons in the wayback creeks in the brown water lagoons and at the bridges. We managed a couple of fun trips with limits of plump specks eating shrimp, softplastics and flies, "easy living" . Snook hunters found takers in the rivers and creeks all along our region, fly guys, ham and eggers and variety of softplastics all taking a share. Condition have improved but the wind made driftfishing a little tough at times but this weekend looks great with temps and the wind backing off. It's all about to good to be true. Tides are the only challenge with "Zero Dark Thirty" highs and morning puddle jumper lows. Plan your assault on the mangrove islands for noon thru late afternoon.
