Cold weather hasn't slowed the fishing!

Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

As the water temps drop you will have to change up the style of fishing. Slow presentations and patience will pay off. The grass flats are holding nice trout with pompano mixed in. Using a popping cork with a live shrimp will get it done in 2-4' of water. There's redfish, big jacks and sheepshead along the deeper shorelines with good moving water. Choice of rig is a small circle hook and a split shot with shrimp. Targeting bigger reds and snook in the creeks is the ticket at this time of the year. Look for the tide hitting the shoreline and this is where you'll find the deep holes. Live white bait is best but artificials work well too.

I specialize in light tackle saltwater fishing in the pristine backbays and nearshore wrecks of Southwest Florida. Whether we're targeting snook, redfish, or trout in the backbays or cobia, permit, shark, grouper, or tarpon on the wrecks. Whether you're a novice or an expert angler, i will take great pride sharing my knowledge and insight to provide my anglers with an enjoyable experience. Kids are always welcomed.
