Dude in Kayak saves the day for GiddyUp!

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
December 22, 2009
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

OK, First, second, and third Aid has been administered so let's light this candle.

From one week ago up until Thurs, things were literally on fire here in SW FL. Inshore and Neashore Grouper Trolling trips were scoring limits in 2 Hours. ECMAC (Color of 111MR MirrOlure) was extracting serious DAMAGE. Double Hookups. By the way, if anyone ever tells you to remove the aft hook from a +25 or +30 Big Lip Lure, ask them if they had a happy childhood. This advice is totally bogus and I know the source (a very powerful force in fishing but even these types can be wrong). There were so many grouper hitting (how many?) that 1 lure was soring 2 grouper. Now, if the rear hook is removed, how is this possible? Duh!

Cobia! Dudes, it was an amazing weeks for Lings.
What a great and fearless (and dumb) fish. Again, big lip lures finds them and only a Doofous goes out without a rod specific for Cobia. This means specifically rigged for Cobia. Bucktail with eel tail or anything eel looking or live bait. On light tackle, one GUFC scored 7 Cobia over 2 hoours. Biggest was about 35LBS 2Oz.

The cold weather moved in last Friday and I felt sorry for my Sunday charter. Water temps had dropped from 78 to 63. That soooooooo sucks. Fish go into shock and lockjaw sets in.

Happy Holidays! Capt GiddyUp is headed to Maryland for the Holidays. You know I wouldn't be goin' if she were not beautiful. GiddyUp and Happy Holidays. jb
