Ft. Myers Beach and Estero Bay Fishing Report!

Capt. Scott Theis
June 25, 2013
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Estero Bay is producing some great fishing. The key is to fish the higher stages of the tides and make sure the water is moving. There's redfish, snook and jacks prowling the shorelines due to all the small bait around. The rigs we use is a popping cork with a 1/0 mutu-lite hook or a freelined live bait. Pinfish has been the choice of bait or a nice chunk of ladyfish will do the trick.

The nearshore wrecks off Ft. Myers Beach are holding snook, trout, grouper and mackeral. Live pinfish or thread herring will entice the bite. Handle the snook with care. Snook season will open up September 1st. Gag grouper season opens up on July 1st. Before you adventure out make sure to look at the radar and check your bilge pumps. These storms pop up fast so check the radar on your phones while your out on the water.
Get out there and have fun.
