Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

First things first, I need to make mention that this is one of the warmest February's we have had in many years.

Water temperatures are over 76 degrees, bait has showed up, pompano are skippin', redfish are schooling, bull sharks are everywhere, and a few(very few) tarpon have even arrived in sunny Southwest Florida. I have worked 42 out of the last 45 days and I have had many memorable charters and this past week was no exception. I had over 250 redfish come over the side of my boat this week, with about 60 of them being upper slot to over slot. The trout fishing is still fantastic and will continue to be over the next couple months.

We are catching tons of slot fish, but we are also catching a good amount of "gator trout" over 24". Snook fishing continues to improve and I have a handful of night snook charters on the books for the month of March. If you have never done, you need to. I hope this fishing report finds everyone doing well and I look forward to seeing you on the water.
