July has been hot (as expected) but the fishing has been even hotter and I look for that to continue through August and into the fall. As you may have picked up by my fishing reports, there is never a slow time to fish here in Southwest Florida! I am still running charters everyday but the warm summer air has resulted in a lot more 1/2 and ¾ day trips.

Snook fishing has been one of the main focuses on my charters as of late. We have been catching numerous fish over 30 inches on nearly every trip. A day with the right tides can produce a 20 snook over 30 inch day like it did for the Dickinson family this week. The largest fish landed lately was 42" and we have had many fish in that range and bigger get away!

Redfish action has been very strong as well. We have been catching a lot of fish in the slot and overslot on our charters when we take a break from snook fishing. The high summer tides we are experiencing make it very easy to pick off schools of fish that gather under the mangroves. Also, if you have never booked a fall redfish charter in September and October now is the time to get your dates in. It is one of the most exciting experiences you will ever have on the water and you are sure to come back and do it every year. There is nothing more exciting than watching 500 redfish float on top of the water turning the water orange!
Snapper fishing has been our other focus lately in Pine Island Sound and Charlotte Harbor. Large snapper are moving out of the rivers and bays to head offshore where they will remain for the rest of their life. If you are looking for a tasty dinner, look no further.
If you are linked up with Facebook, check out our page HOKE FISHING CHARTERS. I post pictures live during the day for you to check out.
I hope everyone is doing well and I hope to hear from you soon.
