Grouper busting Big Lip Lures continued

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
November 7, 2010
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

WE NEVER WENT INTO THE GULF OF MEXICO and scored limits of Gag Grouper. Pine Island Sound/ICW/San Carlos Bay. When I told my customers we would limit out (probably in 2 Hours) they truly thought I was (a) crazy or (b) intoxicated (I have never been late for a charter of consumed alcohol the night before a charter).

It was amazing trolling the ICW with +7Ft divers. I love to see young guys blow by me at 55MPH in their Lake and Bays shaking their head like "what are those fools doing?" Young, dumb, and really full of dumb for its all about catching our depleted supply of snook and our 1 flippin redfish limit. God bless em' as they do know how to do that. Anyway, trolling lures has been lethal both Inshore and Offshore.

Leaving our snook and reds alone, my next move was Flounder Fishing. We absolutely busted them. My Uncle sent me some special flounder rigs from SC and these rigs are the bomb. If you can force yourself to wait for the Flounder to eat and then set the hook, YOU IS THEN DOWNTOWN!

Spanish and Bonita are so thick in and around C-Span (Sanibel Causeway) it seems you can walk on them. Load up with ice, catch your limit of spanish, and HELLO FISH FRY (Beer Batter-Golden Dip)

Cold front has shut everything down as of Friday. "Don't shoot doves on telephone wires or catch snook when our supply is threatened." It will be years before they recover especially if we get another big freeze. Final Thought. If you want the truth, you will find these reports helpful. Reality is not fantasy. "GiddyUp"

Fort Myers Fishing Forecast:

I think the fishing will bounce back after Day 2 of the "Warm Back Up"

Target Species:

Anything but Snook and Redfish
