Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

I'm not sure how much higher the deck can be stacked against the Florida Fishing Guide. One thing for sure. It is imperative for anyone fishing in Florida to check for the following documents.
1) TWIC Card.....If a Guide cannot immediately produce one, don't fish with him. He is not a certified guide without it. I was stopped and asked for mine on a trip to Ft Myers Beach.
2) INSURANCE.... See a copy of your Guide's policy. If you are hurt and there is no insurance, consider yourself Totally Screwed.
3) FWC Fishing License. Cost is about 206.00 for (4). Ask to see these documents
4) Business License. All Guides must have current Business License from the County they reside
5) VALAD CAPTAIN'S LICENSE
My Honda/Andros 23 gets about 4MPG. I don't see my prices remaining where they are for very long.
By the way, TripleTail are all over the place. The gas surcharge to chase these delicious fish will be 100.00 extra. That's right. 475.00 for a 5 Hour Charter. That is almost as much as Marine or Auto Mechanic makes.
Word to the wise. Check out your Guides paperwork. See a valid/current Insurance Policy. Don't leave the dock without it.
The Florida Guides Assn requires proof of credentials. Ask for a FGA Card and you should be good to go.
Fort Myers Fishing Forecast:

Outstanding tripleTail fishing.
