Fishing report for the week ending 11/15/2010
After a strong coldfront passed by on the weekend with temperatures in the high 40"s and strong north winds we rebounded nicely by midweek. As air a most importantly water temps rose we had a pleasent suprise of the number of redfish that showed up.
Trips later in the week fishing mostly oystebars on high water with live shinners either free linned or under a popping cork we caught redfish sometimes two at a time. Many of the reds were under the slot but these guys put up a good fight on light tackle.
Sea trout have also been good with larger fish showing up with the cooler weather, we caught them around the oyster bars on high water but they are also showing up in potholes and in sand and grass bottom in 3-6ft. of water. Shinners either free linned or under popping corks and soft plastics are your best bet. Our live bait will be thinning out with the next couple of fronts so stock up on artifitials.
We had a few other suprises while fishing for reds around oyster bars we hooked several bluefish in the 4-5lb. class not what I thought would be there but great fun to catch. I spent little time on mackerel this week because the reds were so good but they are still off the beaches and near the passes.
