Fishing the shallow water wrecks is always interesting because there are so many different species to be caught on any day. We went out in search of gag grouper and ended up with cobia sitting all over the structure. The bait of choice are live pilchards. Also, the grouper are moved in close and they are camped in numbers on these structures. We've been using pinfish or sand perch for bait. Other species being caught are nice flounder, bluefish and snapper.

Estero Bay is still going strong with the redfish and snook. The water temps are getting cooler so work the mouth creeks and canals. Chumming with white bait is very productive while fishing these areas. Look for trout on the grass flats in about 3-4' using a popping cork with a 30lb flourocarbon leader and a 1/0 mutu-lite hook. Choice of bait is a live shrimp or a pilchard.
