Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hot fishing

Hi folks, long time since my last report. My computer went down.I am now back and ready to go.Fishing has been hot for snook, redfish, and trout.Todays trip with some disabled veterans that Lee County Professional Guides Assoiation does every year in September. My anglers David and Bruce Caught 2 nice snook of 24" and they also managed to catch around 40 to 50 trout. The trout topped out at 20".

Nice redfish have been biting all over the place.Last Tuesdays trip resulted in 25 reds in the 26" to over 30".These fish were caught on pinfish fished on Cajun thunder popping Corks. The big bull reds are moving into the bays to spawn and are really starting to tear up small pinfish either freelined or floated on a popping cork close to the mangrove trees

Now that snook season has started in earnest.I will be concentrating on fishing the mangrove trees for the nice snook that have come off the spawn.Although I have managed to get clients on some smaller snook this past week I have been seeing some really huge snook on the flats.

Seatrout are so thick that you cant hardly make a cast that does not get hit. Most of these fish are small but their are enough big boys around to keep things interesting.Catches of 40 to 50 are about the norm for a half day trip. The trout are hitting best on greenbacks floated on a popping cork but I have also done good on assorted artificials.Well that does it for this week.See ya on the water.

Fl.See ya on the water.Capt Glenn.
