Southwest Florida Fishing Report - Bonita Springs to Captiva

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
September 28, 2005
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Red Tide, Stinch, Stink, and Decomposing Fish (Millions) are just some of the issues here in SW FL. My 6HR Charter yesterday (9/27/05) turned into a full refund 2HR Charter. We saw millions of dead fish and we all began to have respiratory troubles. On our way out of Pine Island Sound to Pace's Reef via Redfish Pass a miracle happened.

In an area about the size of a Super Wall Mart, Spanish Mackerel were jumping about. It was obvioulsy a clean avenue of water in the Gulf of Mexico. The exact location was in 18FT of water due West of Red Fish Pass. East of it was nothing but dead floating fish. West of it was nothing but dead floating fish.

I would come to SW FLorida on a bet right now. Sad but true. You get honesty from me, not hype. I do not work for the Chamber of Commerce. "GiddyUp" JB
