Southwest Florida Fishing Report - Bonita Springs to Captiva

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
December 17, 2007
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

The best thing I can say about Christmas is to say how much I miss Thanksgiving. Giving thanks for all the gifts we already have not the ones we have to go buy. Screw Christmas. With that, come this. My last fishing report of 2007.

Cold weather has displaced a great run of mid 70's water temps. King Macks, Bonita (Little Tunny), Spanish, and a fair number of Cobia represented great opportunities over the past several weeks. As to where all the above will go is simply a guess. I'm not sure what value it is for me to get everyone hot and bother about fishinging in 75 degree water temps as this is no more. Last night was 42 and temps in the Gulf of Mex drop very quickly. I have a charter on Wed and the plan is to troll nearshore for Grouper.

If we knock the nuts off of da fish, I'll do another report and brag as to how great I is! If we get skunked, I'll get drunk. "GiddyUp"
