More Of The Same Which Is a VERY Good Thing

Capt. Mark Yimin
October 5, 2013
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing in Estero Bay remains VERY good! A lot of the same is still true this week, we found schools on the flats this week but any bait thrown in to the school produced only Jacks! Stick with the higher water patterns of fishing oysters and shorelines. Pilchards are the best bait going, rig them on a 2/0 circle with 30lb fluorocarbon leader. Twenty Redfish days are the norm right now and there are more jacks than any one person could ever want to catch in the same spots. Fight your way through them and be patient and it will pay off, Keeper snook were caught on two trips this week and upper slot reds are a common theme. Look for it to continue to be good fishing through October. Remember Tripletail season is around the corner as the crabbers were dropping their pots this AM, so stay tuned for tripletail reports!
