Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

After locking up a powerhead on one of my 250 Suzuki's the last week of June, I've been on the prowl for either a used engine or brand new engines. Used engines were far ajd few between, and unfortunately I've been on a waitlist for a jew pair of 300s for over 2 months with no end in site.
I found a deal on a boat in Texas that had like new yamaha 300s so I made the drive to go pick up the boat ajd engines.
Fast forward to yesterday, the boats first return to service. My clients met me at Pineland marina in hopes of getting some red grouper to bring back and eat.
We pushed off around 715 and let the new yamahas roar out to the fishing grounds. The bit started off a little on the slow side, with a few lanes coming up over the sides. We had two big bang hits, a break off and got rocked up.. so on to the next spot.
The next spot helped put a nice grouper in the box immediately. A juvenile African pompano ahd a good mangrove came up next. Another big red grouper, followed by a 20-25 lb class Goliath grouper came up.
We made a short move and it was on like donkey Kong. Double, triple and quad hook ups. A couple pulled hooks, couple break offs, and another 6 legal grouper made their way into the fox box to complete our 4 man limit of red grouper.
The fishing was great, and the Yamahas purred the whole time. Can't wait to get out again tomorrow and slay em.
Till next time!
