Tarpon, Tripletail, and Permit

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
June 9, 2011
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

My 40 year run as a bachelor will come to an end this Saturday (June 11th). I know what so of you guys are saying like "Poor GiddyUp." Onward but wish me luck.

Tarpon are still along SW FL beaches. I've always wanted to catch a tarpon from the beach but never have. The time for this challenge could not be better.

Triple tail are all over markers in front of Ft Myers Beach and out to 30ft off abandoned crab pots. If you see anything floating, go check it out. Don't have bait? Take the weight out of a DOA shrimp.

Grouper is closed and this really sucks. Snook is closed and should remained closed for 2-3 more years. There is a valid reason for closing snook not grouper.

Fort Myers Fishing Forecast:

Better than most June months
