Water Temperatures Bite

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
April 21, 2010
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

My report comes via Oxford, Maryland. It is written from observations by 2 Captains I trust without reservation. Capt Norm Meshaw and Capt David Dean.

Capt Norm reported a total bust on tarpon fishing. He said the number of boats of Picnic Island was 6. Water temp was 72. Capt Norm asserted this as the reaspn for no tarpon.

Capt David Dean fished about 150 miles of water on Saturday and saw ZERO tarpon in the Gulf of Mexico. The SKA event he was fishing was out of Tarpon Point in Cape Coral. Only 4 boats weighed fish. Capt David and daughter (Capt Kristi) ran the table on A-Jacks but no King Macks. They did see large bait schools moving North on Sat. Sun was a suck weather day.

I'm back home on Thurs and fish Sat and Sun. You get the truth here folks as I don't hawk for charters by trying to blow smoke up your After Burners. GiddyUp

Fort Myers Fishing Forecast:

I personally and honestly feel Tarpon will finally move into SW FL next week.

Target Species:

Tarpon and trolling for Grouper
