Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

Inshore fishing this week has been red hot for snapper, sheephead and sand perch with the catwalks of the South Bridge being the place to fish. Small live shrimp seems to be the best bait.
Snook - The snook have been slow for the first part of the week but really turned on Thursday and Friday. The North Bridge, Turning Basin and the Inlet were where most of the fish were taken. Live mullet was the ticket here.
Pompano - There was a good pompano bite to the sout in the river around Bear Point on Thursday with the fish going to three pounds.
Trout- The catch and release trout fishing has been great with fish up tp six pounds being reported. Live shrimp fished in three to five feet of water just about anywhere you can find clear water will produce these fish.
Jacks, Blue's and Mackerel - These fish are all over the Inlet. Just look for the other boats.
Offshore - The only words for the offshore fishing are rough seas and sailfish. The north winds have brought the saifish down and all the charter boats are happy. I had reports of action in 130 to 180 feet of water, due east of the Inlet.
Kingfish - We have the S.K.A. anglers here this weekend and they are looking for the Big Smoker Kings and most are fishing to the North around the sebastian area. We do have a few kingfish right here. Like the 42 pounder the caught on the Big Dog on Thursday just off the 12-A Bouy using a blue runner.
Snapper & Grouper - Bottom fishing for snapper and grouper has been good all week in 75 to 95 feet of water. Finger mullet was the best bait to use.
Until next week, good fishing
