Fishing Report for Ft. Pierce, Florida

Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

Inshore fishing has been good most of the week for snook, trout, sheephead, flounder and mackerel. The only problem has been the wind in the afternoon.
SNOOK - Most of the snook have been taken from the Turning Basin early in the morning on live large shrimp or on the night tide change using pinfish or pigfish. The Jetty has been producing quite a few short snook early in the morning.
TROUT - The trout have been tricky for most anglers but two things you need are 3 to 5 feet of water over a sandy pocket and a medium live shrimp. Fish the shrimp on a free line for the best results.
SHEEPHEAD, SANDPERCH, MACKEREL & FLOUNDER - It looks like the catwalk of the South Bridge is still the number 1 spot to bag these fish. Both live shrimp and fresh dead shrimp are working great to land these fish. The first of the falling tide has been the key here.
SURF - The whiting are still strong in the surf as well as the mackerel. The bluefish are a hit and miss thing this past week.
Until next week, Good fishing.
