Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

INSHORE - The inshore fishing this week has been good for most of the week. Reports of snook and trout have been fair but seems to be getting better. Sheephead, sandperch and snapper haven't slow down much in the last six weeks. Let's not forget about the jacks, bluefish and spanish mackerel that have been breaking lines right and left.
SNOOK - The snook action this past week has been in the Turning Basin, North Bridge and around the South Bridge on the tide change. Live shrimp fished slow on the bottom or red-tail hawks are the way to go. The Inlet has been off and on all week but mostly off with only a few fish reported. Pigfish and pinfiah took the ones that were caught.
TROUT - Most of the trout I've been catching are coming from two places and small live shrimp are the bait of choice. Just to the south of Round Island on the north end and at Faber Cove to the south. Most of the action is just after daylight.
SHEEPHEAD, SANDPERCH & SNAPPER - There is no secret about these fish. The catwalks of the South Bridge are still going strong and also along the channel edges. These fish are feeding on regular size shrimp and can be caught all day long.
BLUEFISH, JACKS & SPANISH MACKEREL - These fish have been all over the Inlet and the river with the bluefish and spanish mackerel being caught from Harbor Branch to the north to Big Mud Creek to the south. These fish are taking just about any kind of bait . Just find the birds and you will find the fish.
Until next week, good fishing.
