Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

INSHORE - The inshore fishing was good the first part of the week for snook, trout and even a few redfish. Most of these fish were taken on live bait. The snook were feeding in the Turning Basin before daylight and at the bridges and in the Inlet during the day. I did have reports of good size snook coming from the Boils the first part of the week, especially Tuesday. The trout have been coming from the South around the Midway Road area for the most part and have been feeding on top water baits, early in the morning and live shrimp the rest of the day. The redfish that were caught came from the Round Island area and were caught on gold spoons or finger mullet. The catwalks of the South Bridge have been active for snapper and sheephead. The most productive time has been in the afternoon and fresh dead shrimp was the bait of choice.
SURF - The surf fishing has been good all week with the whiting taking the most action. Blind Creek was the place to be from daylight until about 9:00am.
I just want to say congratulations to our daughter, Tina, and our new son-n-law, Jeffery. The were married Saturday, April 21st. Hope they have a great time on their honeymoon and a long, happy life together.
Until next week, good fishing.
