Fishing Report for Ft. Pierce, Florida

Capt. Joe Ward
July 19, 2003
Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

There has been a lot of trout reported this past week on the West side of the river around the Walton Road area and to the North in the river it has been at Harbor Branch and Round Island. Most of the trout were taken before 8am and the bigger ones were caught on live shrimp or a live pigfish.

Catch and release snook action has also been good in the Ft. Pierce Inlet and on the flats to the North of the North Bridge. Try fishing in the late afternoon and use a live mullet.

The snapper and sheepshead continue to be strong along the channel edges for anglers using live shrimp or small greenies. There are still pompano on the flats along the Treasure Coast. Try using a sandflea or a live shrimp.
