Fishing Report for Ft. Pierce, Florida

Capt. Joe Ward
September 16, 2003
Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

Overall the fishing this week has been slow as most can tell by the empty boat ramps. I did get a few reports from some diehard snook anglers. They reported that the snook were up in Taylor Creek and around the North and South bridges in Ft. Pierce. Live baits have been the way to go. The snook fishing is not like it has been in past years.

Trout fishing has been steady up until about 9:00am and then again just before dark. Live shrimp and live pigfish have been the baits to use.

The snapper fishermen are happy with plenty of quality size snapper coming from the channel edges and in the Ft. Pierce Inlet. Live shrimp or a greenie will work the best for you.

I did have several reports of flounder on the flats just south of the South Bridge in Ft. Pierce. Try using a finger mullet.

Until next time, good fishing.
