Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

INSHORE - Things have been tough with all the wind that has made the water cloudy and lots of grass floating around. I have had to cancel 10 charters in the last 11 days! Hopefully the weatherman is right and this weekend will be a good one. A few trout were reported coming from places like Herman's Bay, Bear Point and around the Queen's Cove area. Large live shrimp fished under a popping cork produced the most fish. I had a few reports of redfish coming from along the dock lines to the south of the City Marina in Ft. Pierce.

Snook action has been OK with some fish being caught around the area bridges at night and in the early morning hours. Most of the snook have been caught on live shrimp. Also, a few reports about snook being caught in the Ft. Pierce and St. Lucie Inlets on the end of the out going tide for anglers using live baits.

Still plenty of sand perch and sheepshead around the area bridges and they have been taking live shrimp. I did get several reports of good croaker and black drum action from the North Fork of the St. Lucie River as well as plenty of big jacks. I did get a few reports of keeper size grouper being caught along the channel edges to the north of the North Bridge in Ft. Pierce.

OFFSHORE - Only one good day reported for the offshore scene this week and that was Sunday. I got reports of several nice cobia being caught in 55 feet of water out of the Ft. Pierce Inlet and some sailfish in 110 feet of water south of the St. Lucie Inlet.

There were several big kingfish and bonita caught in 70 feet of water straight out of the Ft. Pierce Inlet. Not much else to report but hopefully the sea conditions will get better for this weekend.
