Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

October 7, 2005
INSHORE - Inshore there has been a lot of snook reported around the Turning Basin during the day light hours and they have been caught on live shrimp. The snook reports have also been good for anglers fishing at Taylor Creek and the North Bridge after dark. Look for some nice redfish along the docks in the Queen's Cove area. The redfish have been feeding on finger mullet. There has been plenty of snapper along the channel edges as well as jacks, ladyfish and bluefish. The flounder bite has been getting better every day with good reports coming from the area to the south of the South Bridge. The spanish mackerel, jacks and ladyfish have been feeding in the area between the North and South Bridges. A sliver spoon trolled about 1000 rpm's is the way to go.
OFFSHORE - There is no offshore report due to the sea conditions. Hopefully it will calm down in the next few days.
TEEN ANGLERS - The local chapter of National Teen Anglers will hold their monthly inshore fishing tournament this Sunday, October 9th at Jaycee Park in Ft. Pierce.
