Fishing Report for Ft. Pierce, Florida

Capt. Joe Ward
November 8, 2006
Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

November 8, 2006

INSHORE - The inshore fishing this week has been tough to say the least. The strong winds have kept most anglers at home. But, as the wind lays down look for the water to start clearing up and for lots of action from the snook. The best places will be around the local bridges and in the Ft. Pierce Inlet. The croakers, sheepshead and weakfish will be in the deeper holes of the Intercoastal. But for now the only reports are that there is plenty of jacks in the Ft. Pierce Inlet. Also, a few bluefish and spanish mackerel mixed in. A few snook have been reported coming from the lighted docks along the Intercoastal. A few sandperch, black drum and a flounder or two have been reported coming from around the local bridges. Remember that trout is cacth and release until the end of December.

OFFSHORE - There is no offshore report this week as the seas have been to big for most folks. But, again when it lays down you can look for a good run of sailfish working their way down. The dolphin will be scattered and the kingfish will be around the Offshore Bar. The bottom fishing will be a little bit slow while the water clears up.

TEEN ANGLERS - This Sunday -- November 12th will be the regular monthly inshore fishing tournament for the local chapter of Teen Anglers. The teens will leave Jaycee Park in Ft. Pierce at 6:45am and return at noon for a weigh in. The top three teens in the middle and high school divisions will receive trophies and fishing gear for their efforts. If you would like more info on Teen Anglers or would like to volunteer to take them fishing just go to the web at www.teenanglers.org

JUNIOR TEEN ANGLERS - The next from shore fishing tournament for the Junior Teen Anglers will held on December 2nd at Harbour Pointe Park in Ft. Pierce.
