Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report
Inshore fishing has been about the only thing going on this past week due to the wind and high seas. There has been good SNOOK action around the North bridge and in the Ft. Pierce Inlet on the out going tide with pinfish taking most of the snook.
The TROUT fishing has been excellent in 3 ot 5 feet of water on the west flats. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday we had catches of nice size trout while fishing with live shrimp. Most of the trout was caught in the morning on these trips.
On two family fun trips this week my wife, Cammie, had her first back country slam, SNOOK, TROUT and a REDFISH, late Tuesday afternoon just before dark and on Wednesday night my son, Rob Ward had his first back country slam. Also fishing with us on Wednesday night family friend, Johnny Cano, who had a nice mix of REDFISH, SNOOK, TROUT, LADYFISH, and SNAPPER. All fish were caught on live shrimp. On both of these trips we were fishing around the Bear Point area.
I can never say this enough but try and practice C.P.R. CATCH, PICTURE, RELEASE!
