Haulover Inlet - Saltwater Fishing Report
Fishing has improved dramatically over the past few weeks as we approach our peak time.
Starting May 1, the groupers, amberjacks, and hogfish are now open. The weather has been rough the past couple weeks but it is supposed to flatten out.
I did a Bahama trip earlier this month. The crossing over was a bit choppy but it got very nice the rest of the time we were there. We ended up catching plenty of wahoo, amberjacks, mutton snapper, yellowtail snapper, and a few groupers.
The weather should start staying nice now that we are approaching summer. This is a great time of year to schedule a Bahama trip.
South Florida fishing has been very hot the past few weeks. The big blackfin tuna are here along with Sailfish, kingfish, a variety of big sharks, swordfish, and mahi offshore.
May in my opinion is the best month of the year for fishing in Miami. There is a large variety of species to target and most of our fishing is done with live bait. If you would like to book a trip I still have some openings for the next few weeks.
Stay Tight,
Capt. Freddie
