Haulover Inlet - Saltwater Fishing Report

Excuse me for the delayed report but the past four weeks I have been busy travelling the Bahamas and doing a few local trips off Miami. The mahi have showed up in large schools along with some bigger predators mixed in. They have been under birds anywhere from 3-20 miles offshore.

My brother and his family caught two massive swordfish the past two days while fishing offshore of Islamorada. The family is spending the last week together before James heads to Madeira in search of the World Cup winner.

Inshore fishing has been producing snook, tarpon, and jack crevelle on the falling tides while fishing bridges, docks, inlets, and beaches. Preferred bait of choice are pinfish, pilchard, and thread herring.

Bottom fishing has been consistent on the full moon for mutton snapper, grouper, and amberjacks. While fishing the bottom there is still oppurtunity for catching pelagics on the top lines including kingfish, sailfish, blackfin tuna, and bonito.

As you can see there are a wide variety of fish to catch right now while targeting South Florida and the Bahamas. Whatever your choice may be we are willing to cater from the novice to the professional.
