Haulover Inlet - Saltwater Fishing Report

Winter fishing has been good over the past couple months. We have been catching a wide variety of species close to shore.
Golden tile fish just opened up Jan 1.Our limit is three per boat and we catch these tasty creatures in 600 ft of water just outside of Miami Beach. We fish a large sinker with cut bait to pull these magnificent fish off the bottom. While fishing for these we often catch nice game sharks and blackfin tuna.

Live baiting has been producing sailfish, mackerel, bonita fish, mahi-mahi, barracuda, and tuna just too name a few. We drift this time of year with kites and flatlines. This is fun fishing because we use light tackle to ensure a good fight.

Tarpon are showing up on the inside for the annual shrimp migration. There are also ladyfish, bluefish, mackerel, and snook while you're waiting for the big bite.
Further offshore there has been a descent swordfish bite going on when the weather is right. Our last trip we killed one about 100lbs and missed a bigger one on the bottom.

Spring break is right around the corner. Nothing better then taking family and friends out on a deep sea adventure. Give me a call to reserve your spot!

Tight lines,
Capt. Fred David
