Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report
Fall is here and winter is on the way with each cold front coming threw are area the inshore fish will keep moving back into the creeks, coves,and cuts in the back country. There are tons of little rat Reds running around and they are feeding well. The big Reds are around the kelp beds, oyster bars, and mangroves. Three are monster Trout in the same area and on the shallow water grass flats 1-4 feet. I like to use a 3" white Gulp shrimp rigged weedless around the kelp just work the jig slowly or a popping cork rig with a 1/8oz jig head and a 2 foot leader with white gulp shrimp under the cork. The top water action is great with huge Trout, popping the lure 2 feet out of the water is pretty cool, Trout are feeding very good. A Mirror - Lure Mirror dean is a hot lure for both Reds and Trout on my recent charters. This week TJ Jordan caught a grand Slam he caught 4 Snook and 6 Redfish along with tons of big Trout. Todays charter was Allen Turner and his best friend Mike they also caught a lot of Trout, Redfish, Jacks, Ladyfish, and Catfish. The inshore seen is on right now with fish all over the place now is the time to book a trip or just get out there and catch some big fish.
