Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Chase N' Tails Fishing Charters - Fun Winter Fishing -

Old man winter is giving use anglers along the Nature Coast some great fishing weather. With highs in the low 70's the inshore fish such as red fish and trout are feeding very well. The water temperature is still around 58 degrees so saying that you want to find water temperature of at least 62 degrees and higher. Live bait and Lures are working great, if you are using shrimp take the tail and pinch it off then use a 1/0 or 2/0 circle hook and hook the shrimp from bottom up threw the tail. This will give you weight forward for a longer cast.

Lures are what I have been using for the past few weeks. Top water early in the morning are producing big trout, work the lure on the slow side with a few stops's in the retrieve. Once the sun gets around high noon a suspending lure is the way to go. bomber came out with a Badonk - A - Donk SS which looks just like a Mirr O Lure Mirr O Dine. I like the (808) in the Mirr O Dine the best and the SS has the same color. The red fish and trout are hitting the lures with vengeance. I say this on just about every report if you find the mullet the reds and trout are right with them. You can find the NEW Bomber SS at Precision Tackle in Spring Hill FL or you can visit the on line store at www.precisiontackleonlinestore.com
