Crazy Fishing Action

Capt. Josh Fritz
August 30, 2015
Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Crazy fishing action right now. The inshore and nearshore bite is very good, inshore the red fish are in large schools along the outter points and oyster bars. Live bait is producing steady action use live green backs or small pin fish under a bobber. The incoming tide is producing the best action with reds and snook are doing good on both the incoming and outgoing tide. Spanish mackerel are here in good numbers in 4 to 12 feet of water. I have been fishing for them around structure like rocks and reefs, White soft plastic jigs or live green backs are working very good. Gag grouper action is flat out on fire in shallow water 8 to 12 feet. Start out with frozen bait to get the fish active then switch to a live pin fish or large green back and hang on for the big boy. Big mangrove snapper, grunts, flounder, bunch of sharks and lady fish are all over the rocks. A few big cobia have been in the area as well. Book your trip ASAP for a awesome time on the water. Stop into Precision Tackle located in the Well Care plaza on U.S 19 in Spring Hill for all your fishing needs, Dave at precison now hase paddle boards, mud motors, spear guns and much more.
