Fall Fishing Action

Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hernando Beach Fishing Report

Fall fishing is here in Hernando Beach, the red fish bite is off the hook right now with large numbers of red fish around. On my recent charters this past week we are catching red fish from 20 to 28 inches and around 20 to 60 fish days with a epic day this past Saturday with two boats in two hours we caught over 100 red fish. Best action is on the incoming tide with live green backs and pin fish for bait. Snook fishing is great as well, we have a lot of males around 20 to 24 inch snook but the big females are working there way to the fall spots. Target islands, mangrove points, rock bars, and deep holes on a good moving tide for best action. Live green backs are the way to go for a hot snook bite. Trout are around in the shallows 2 to 6 feet holding around grass flats and oyster bars. Mirr O lure 17MR in the 808 and 50 color are my faveriot or a spook jr in bone color is always a sure bet, Live bait green backs and pin fish free lined or under a float will always get bite. Spanish mackerel are on the shallow rock piles along with some Big GAG GROUPER showing up now. Grouper fishing in 10 to 12 feet is so much fun these fish hit like a truck and fight all the way to the boat, frozen threadfins, and boston mackerel for best bait right now. Grouper fishing will just keep getting better and better. We will see another push of cobia during the next two months target rocks, reefs and wrecks chum with chum blocks and cut bait free line a line pin fish or green back out the back of the boat, a moving tide will bring in cobia. Fishing is great and will just get better and better as we cool down, book your charter asap.
