Hernando Fishing Report

Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hernando Beach Fishing Report...

Fishing is great along the Nature Coast of Florida, we are seeing the large schools of red fish showing up along the shallow flats from hudson to chassahowitzka. The reds are holding on the outer islands and mangrove shorelines on the outside edges, look for mullet schools and take your tine moving the boat slowly looking for red fish. Live pilchards and live pin fish are the best bait to use right now. I like to use a 25-30 pound leader with a 2/0 cirlce hook, tail hook the pin fish and nose hook the pilchards.

Gag grouper are chewing well in 10-12 feet chum with live pilchards and free line the bait to the rocks. Out a little deeper the gags along with mangrove snapper are chewing great in 18-30 feet of water still free line live bait the gags will come up for the bait there is nothing like it. Chum with small pilchards or cut bait for the snappers, use a 20-25 pound leader about 4-5 foot long and a 1/0-2/0 circle hook with a piece of cut bait naturally with the current.
