Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing out of this area of the Nature Coast has been very productive the past week. We have had some non stop trout action in recent trips with some quality red fish mixed in. The best baits have been live select shrimp and live pin fish. Free line these bait with a 3/0 circle hook over spotty grassy bottom in 2 - 3 ft of water for the trout and stick to the oyster bars or mangrove shoreline for the reds. The Winter trout fishing in this region is some of the best in the state. Big trout ranging from 18" - 24" are common this time of year. The weather continues to give anglers some fantastic fishing conditions and we have much better tides next week. GET OUT THERE AND BEND A ROD! My calender fills up quick this time of year so book your trip in advance.
