Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hernando beach fishing report.

Inshore fishing along the Nature coast is great. Red fish are schooled up on the outer islands live green backs or pin fish is my bait of choice. Fish the last of the incoming tide and first part of the outgoing tide for best action. Trout are scattered from 4 to 10 feet of water, pooping corks rigged with a white or rootbeer little jons or a 1/8 ounce jig head for shallow water out deep use a 1/4 ounce jig head bounce it slowly across the bottom. Cobia are holding on the nearshore rocks in 8 to 20 feet of water, live green backs and a few chum blocks is the way to go. Along with the cobia we are catching catch and release grouper, grunts, mackerel and sharks.

Back inshore the tarpon are here and ready to eat. Target water depth of 3 to 8 feet from hernando beach north. Make sure you have a head on cast or quartering cast if the fish are going away from you just wait.

Grouper season starts JUNE 1ST dont miss out book your trip asap.
