Catching is Pretty Good - So is Fishing

Homosassa - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well, Walt and I fished one of my favorite holes along the Nature Coast. My clients have caught thousands of fish collectively over the past decades. It is a hotspot this time of year.

Pompano, trout, bluefish and redfish the same day. A limit of trout each. Using jigs. It seems from what I have read, the best captains are catching/releasing the snook and slaying the grouper. I'll include Walt in this category of landing a few grouper over 10 pounds.

So far the winter has been mild. Some cold weather, but not enough to shut the bite down.

Even if you don't catch a fish, getting there is half the fun.

Get out there and go fishing if you can, because it is good for you.

Homosassa Fishing Forecast:

If the water temperature stays like it is now, the bite should continue. Both offshore grouper and inshore species love to chew one day ahead of a cold front the best.
